John is a chartered energy consultant with over 40 years experience in energy management and behaviour change. He has designed and delivered behavioural change and training programmes for large organisations in 15 countries over the last 30 years.

John is a qualified ESOS Lead Assessor and is experienced in energy auditing and ISO 50001, he has been a judge on a number of UK energy awards and is a frequent speaker at UK conferences.

John has worked in the chemical industry as a chartered chemical engineer to reduce energy consumption in process plants.

Dr Phillipa Coan

BSc MSc PhD CPsychol

Dr Phillipa Coan is a leading figure in multiple disciplines ranging from Business Psychology to the field of energy management and broader environmental sustainability.

Phillipa has worked across sectors and industries including oil and gas, manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, higher education and financial. She is also an established consultant in broader selection, training and organisational change.

Having a PhD in environmental behaviour change and an academic post at Leeds, Phillipa translates cutting-edge academic research into innovative, practical solutions.

Martin Berry

IEng MEI

Martin is an energy consultant with over 40 year experience in energy management, initially working in the brick manufacturing industry at an operational level and then for 33 years in consultancy.

In that time Martin has acquired an in-depth knowledge in energy efficiency across a wide range of industrial processes, including steam boiler plant, and commercial building services applications.

Martin specialises in combined heat and power (CHP) schemes, from small reciprocating engine based units to combined cycle schemes rated at 10’s of MWe, including conventional gas and bio-fuelled applications. Projects cover feasibility studies for new and replacement schemes, CHPQA support and investigative studies into poor plant operation.

Carol Somper

MSc LEDM BSc Env Sciences

Carol is a BREEAM Communities Assessor, BREEAM AP and a member of the Academy of Urbanism, with over 35 years of experience in sustainable land and natural resource management, sustainable transport and communities.

She is a qualified ISO 14001:2015 Lead Auditor with experience in supporting corporations to review and improve their resource efficiency, carbon, waste and water management.

As a trained facilitator, Carol also works on awareness-raising and capacity-building projects, using focus group, on-line surveys and participative approaches to develop stakeholder and community engagement for positive planning outcomes.

Marion Beaver

BSc (Hons) CEng MEI

Marion is a chartered energy engineer via the Energy Institute with over 20 years’ experience in energy management and behaviour change.

She is a qualified ESOS Lead Assessor and has also conducted a number of ESOS energy audits across manufacturing, logistics and retail sectors.

Marion has climate change communications experience as a former training officer with the charity Climate Outreach and is an experienced project manager with a technical specialism in compressed air systems energy saving and safety issues.
